Rampaging youths threw bottles at cars and smashed windows at the Singleton Community Centre last night after trying to gatecrash a local club’s sundowner.

Police were called about 11.30pm after about 30 uninvited people refused to leave the centre when they were denied entry.

The thugs broke the electric doors leading into the function room and forced their way inside.

A police spokeswoman said they threw bottles at cars parked in the carpark and used bottles and bricks to smash about 10 windows at the centre.

“A few patrons were assaulted by the offenders out the front of the centre and they were treated for minor injuries,” she said.

Inquiries are continuing.
