Star sprinter Barakey will miss the Lightning Stakes at Flemington due to a foot abscess.
Trainer Jim Taylor was forced to send Barakey back to the paddock after discovering the abscess, which has also ruled him out of a transfer to Chris Waller's stables for the Sydney autumn carnival.
Taylor told TAB Radio that Barakey will be aimed at the Roma Cup at Belmont Park later this year.
