A 6-year-old Bengal tiger and her 33-year-old caretaker have formed an inseparable bond after they were brought together three years ago in East Java.

The tiger’s owner, 51-year-old Noer Muhammad Sholeh asked Islamic student, Abdullah Sholeh to take care of the tiger when it was a 3-month-old cub.

Since then Abdullah Sholeh has become best friend and a full-time nanny to the tiger, Mulan Jamilah.

Abdullah Sholeh regularly sleeps, plays and fights with the 178kg, 3m-long tiger.

The pair are so close, he often shuns his own bed to sleep alongside Mulan in her enclosure.

For security reasons, metal bars have been installed to separate them when they are together in the big cat’s house.

Mulan is bound to keep growing, if not in length then in girth, as she is fed 6kg of chicken or goat meat twice a day.
