Beatles fans across the world are rejoicing at news that Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are set to reunite on stage at the Grammy Awards next week, which could mark the first time the duo have performed together in close to four years.

The two music icons - who are the only surviving members of the legendary 60s group - are set to perform at the awards ceremony on Sunday, January 26, in Los Angeles.

And while it is yet to be confirmed whether the duo will hit the stage to perform together, there has been mass anticipation building among avid Beatles fans.

Both McCartney and Ringo are up for Grammy gongs.

McCartney has been nominated in the best rock song category for his track, Cut Me Some Slack.

Ringo, whose last studio album release was back in 2012, is set to be honoured with the 2014 Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award.
