Knife threat in tavern theft
A man has been charged after allegedly threatening a security guard with a knife and stealing alcohol and food from a Mandurah tavern overnight.
The 26-year-old Lockridge man has been charged with attempted armed robbery, burglary and stealing after allegedly filling a bin with food and alcohol at the Silver Sands Tavern at 12.10am.
Police will allege the man was approached by a security guard who he threatened with a knife before leaving with the stolen items.
Police found a man matching a description of the offender hiding behind a bush on Moat Street and the stolen items in the surrounding area.
The man has been denied bail and will appear in Mandurah Magistrate's Court today.
