A building is on fire in Canning Vale, in what is a further stretch for busy firefighters today.

The building fire, on Wittenberg Drive, near Canvale Road, was reported at 3.48pm. It is not known what type of building is alight.

Streets in surrounding areas in Canning Vale may be affected by smoke and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Fire and Rescue Service crews are at the scene.

People in the area should remain inside, out of the smoke or fumes, with doors and windows closed as a precautionary measure.

Air conditioners should also be switched off.

Stay away from the area. If you are already in the area take advice from emergency services personnel.
