Eight charged in 'car rebirthing racket'

Eight people have been charged after police uncovered two stolen cars at a Maddington home earlier this week.

Detectives executed a search warrant on the Alloa Road home on Wednesday.

They found stolen cars and evidence of car re-birthing, which is a crime that involves giving stolen or wrecked cars new identities.

Six men and two women, all aged between 23 and 45, have been charged with 45 offences.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
