UPDATE: A 20-year-old woman has been charged over the death of a 77-year-old man killed after he was hit by a car while crossing a road in Burswood last night.

Major Crash investigators today charged the Ocean Reef woman with dangerous driving causing death.

Police received calls about a serious crash on Great Eastern Highway shortly before 9pm.

The man was crossing Great Eastern Highway at the traffic lights at the intersection of Craig Street near Crown Casino when he was hit by a white Mazda Tribute travelling west.

The pedestrian was rushed to hospital with serious injuries but later died.

The woman is due to appear in Perth Magistrate's Court on January 14.
