Man arrested over charity tin theft
A Medina man has been arrested after he allegedly stole a charity tin from a supermarket on Christmas morning.
Police allege the 36-year-old entered the store on Pace Road in Medina at about 8am and used pliers to cut a chain securing the charity tin at a checkout.
He then allegedly took the tin, which contained cash donations, before leaving the store.
The man was later arrested at his Medina home where police allegedly found a number of cannabis plants in his backyard.
He has been charged with steal and cultivating cannabis and is due to appear in the Rockingham Magistrate’s Court on January 24.
