Christmas cheer for Kalgoorlie Lotto winner
The winning ticket was sold at Boulevard Newsagency, Kalgoorlie.

Christmas just got two million times better for a lucky Lotto winner in Kalgoorlie after they picked up a Division 1 prize in Saturday’s draw.

The winning ticket was sold at Boulevard Newsagency, Kalgoorlie and the winner will take home $2,071,514.70.

Owner of the Newsagency Garry Campbell said it was his first Division 1 prize sold at his outlet since taking over just four months ago.

"I’m absolutely ecstatic and delighted for Kalgoorlie to have a win so close to Christmas," Mr Campbell said."

We don’t have any lucky statues in our store but my staff and I are the lucky charms of this outlet," he laughed.

The weekend win now brings WA’s tally of Division 1 winners for the year to 85. These winners have shared in prizes worth more than $177.4 million.

Lotterywest spokesperson Jody Nunn said Boxing Day’s $50 million Powerball jackpot is creating a buzz.

Ms Nunn said WA had seen a run of big Powerball winners this year with four Western Australians taking out a Division 1 prize and sharing $80 million between them.
