A thief tried to flee the scene of his alleged crime in a golf buggy last night.
Police have charged a 20-year-old man over a burglary at the Royal Fremantle Golf Club.
Security staff from the High Street course contacted police about 11.20pm after a storage shed was burgled.
A security officer made an unsuccessful attempt to stop the offender driving off in a golf cart.
The buggy crashed into a bunker and a man ran off.
Police dog Rumble chased the man down and he was arrested.
He has been charged with aggravated burglary and stealing a motor vehicle and will appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court today.
