A weather warning has been issued for the south-west of WA.

The weather warning is for people in parts of the south-west from Geraldton to Northam to Walpole.

This area includes people in, near or between the following towns: Jurien Bay, Augusta, Busselton, Bunbury, Mandurah and the Perth metropolitan area.

A strong cold front is expected to move over the region during Tuesday evening. On Wednesday a deep low will pass to the south of the State.

A strong cold front late tomorrow afternoon and evening may cause localised dangerous wind gusts in excess of 125km/h.

Thunderstorms and moderate to heavy falls are also possible.

Winds may cause localised damage to property and make road conditions hazardous.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should store or weigh down loose objects such as outdoor furniture.

Vehicles should be moved under cover and boat owners should securely moor their vessels.
