A policeman charged over the death of a mother of three in a pursuit will take the case to trial in the District Court.

The 27-year-old constable, whose identity is suppressed, was allegedly driving the police car that collided with the Toyota Corolla driven by Sharon D'Ercole, 50, in April 12.

The officer has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.

Police will allege the officer was trying to stop a stolen Audi sedan when his Ford Territory went through a red light and T-boned the Toyota, killing Mrs D'Ercole and injuring her teenage daughter Lashay.

The police officer will face the Perth District Court on April 26.
