A 54-year-old man has drowned off WA's south coast after being swept off rocks while fishing with his wife.
WA police said the victim and his wife were fishing along rocks at Dalyup's Twilight Beach, near Esperance, when they were swept into the ocean by a wave.
While the woman was able to clamber to safety from the water, her husband could not, and was overcome with exhaustion.
A police spokesman said emergency services rushed to the man's aid, but ambulance personnel were unable to revive him.
