Fighting women smash through window

Two women went through the glass window of a restaurant during a fight in Fremantle early this morning.

About 4.00am police were alerted to a disturbance on Queen Street, Fremantle.

A 20-year-old woman, who earlier claimed her purse had been stolen, was involved in a verbal altercation with a group of people.

The situation escalated and the 20-year-old and a 19-year-old woman ended up smashing through the front glass window of a restaurant.

Both women were injured in the incident.

The 20-year-old woman was taken to Fremantle Hospital for treatment. Her injuries are believed to be minor.

The 19-year-old woman initially refused treatment by ambulance officers.

Police took the 19-year-old into custody and transported her to Fremantle Hospital. Her injuries are believed to be more serious.

Inquiries are continuing into circumstances surrounding the incident.
