Celebrity chefs get on board for mate Matt

Six celebrity chefs will showcase their unbreakable bond of friendship to raise funds for fellow chef and burns survivor, Matt Golinski.

Golinski suffered severe burns to over 40 percent of his body in a tragic Boxing Day blaze that claimed the lives of his wife, Rachael, and daughters, Starlia, Willow and Sage.

The former Ready, Steady Cook regular is currently undergoing extensive rehabilitation after spending several months in a medically induced coma.

Celebrity chefs Manu Feildel, Alastair McLeod, Janelle Bloom, George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and Damian Heads will jump on board two luxury European cruises to raise funds for Golinski, in an idea penned by Brisbane-based travel agent Hilary Weir.

"I first met the six chefs as part of a Plate for Mates fundraising event and was so impressed by their genuine, 'whatever it takes' commitment to help their mate, Matt" she said.
