Perth to get $12m roller-coaster
Adventure World - Perth's summer fun park for 30 years - is building a $12 million roller-coaster.
The German-built ride named Mil will reach G-forces up to 4.5.
"This will be a thrill ride like no other," Adventure World chief Mark Shaw said.
"It will feature the broadest range of G-forces and speed for a theme park ride in Australia.
"It will be the most exciting and exhilarating ride visitors to Adventure World have experienced."
Tourism WA chief Stephanie Buckland said it was great to see the park investing in what is set to be an extraordinary experience.
"Over the past few years, Adventure World has added new attractions and upgraded some of its existing facilities," she said.
"With the addition of this exciting world-class roller-coaster, the park is a great tourism asset."
The 630m ride is the biggest single Adventure World investment. It will have three inversions through daylight and a secret dark section.
There will be a zero-G roll, rollover loop, cobra roll and inline loop.
The highest peak is 30m and the eight passengers in four cars will get a unique 10-storey vertical lift.
"At full speed, those brave enough to experience it will be propelled at more than 85km/h during a two-minute heart-pounding journey, experiencing G-forces close to those achieved by Formula 1 cars at corners or pilots catapulted off an aircraft carrier," Mr Shaw said.
The ride, made by roller-coaster specialist Gerstlauer, is due to open in November.
