Switch set to bring the bass

Blake McDonald will bring the Groovin the Moo pre-party to Breakers this weekend.

Geraldton’s bass-hungry crowd impressed DJ Boston Switch so much in his set earlier this year, that he has decided to pencil the Mid West in for one of five Groovin the Moo pre-parties.

Boston Switch, otherwise known as Blake McDonald, will return to Geraldton for his second pre-party, due to kick off on Saturday at Breakers.

McDonald only recently wrapped up his Future Music tour and admitted Geraldton totally blew him away on stage.

The DJ was then asked to select his favourite locations for the Groovin the Moo tour, where he picked Geraldton as one of the party hot-spots.

“The last time we performed in Geraldton the crowd was just totally switched on and it was like a mini festival,” McDonald said.

“Everyone was just super ecstatic and when they asked me to pick my favourite spots for the tour I definitely wanted to come back to Geraldton for another party.”

Along with performing at this year’s Future Music Festival and Groovin the Moo, Boston Switch has also hit up a list of major music festivals including Southbound and Summadayze.

This time round, McDonald will hit the stage with local DJ act Strawn and even a surprise East Coast DJ that could potentially join in on the night.

McDonald said he had a lot of surprises in store for Geraldton and planned on ditching his usual set list in favour for big bass tunes.

“Geraldton seems to really love heavier music so I’ve been looking up songs with a bigger bass to nail the perfect set list this Saturday,” he said.

“The surprise act we’re also trying to lock in will be perfect for that kind of atmosphere as well. Geraldton’s in for a big night.”

Two Groovin the Moo tickets will also be up for grabs on the night for the Bunbury festival on May 10.

The Groovin the Moo pre-party starts at 9pm on Saturday at Breakers Bar.
