Johnny Depp has not left Australia and filming for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is going ahead as planned.

Depp’s publicist Michael Singer yesterday said media reports of the actor leaving the Gold Coast to be with his wife, Amber Heard, in Los Angeles were false.

“He remains in Queensland and filming of Pirates of the Caribbean continues as scheduled,” he said.

It was earlier claimed that Depp was jetting back to the US to be with his wife amid speculation of marital woes.

Depp unexpectedly walked off the set of Pirates of the Caribbean on Wednesday night, according to the Gold Coast Bulletin.

It would have been yet another major setback for the Disney production, already behind schedule after the 51-year-old suffered a hand injury in March.

Heard, above with Depp, is an actress and model and left Australia with the couple’s undeclared pet dogs last week.

Depp was originally planning to jet off with Heard and the pooches but producers stepped in and convinced him to stay.

The couple’s marriage is said to be shaky, with Heard’s close friendship with photographer and gay activist iO Tillett Wright causing bickering.

Some US entertainment sites claim Heard had previously been asked to leave the Pirates set by producers because the couple’s constant fighting was causing disruptions.
