Man charged over Eaton death

A Bunbury man has denied he murdered 24-year-old Brent Barton in an Eaton house on Thursday night.

Dylan Anthony McColl, 22, appeared briefly before Justices of Peace Monica Potter and Rob Price in a Bunbury court this morning.

Mr McColl was not required to enter a plea to a charge of murder but from the dock he said the accusations were false.

He was remanded in custody to appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court in Perth on May 27.

Mr McColl thanked the JPs for their time as he left the courtroom.

Mr Barton was found by police with serious wounds at a house on Hamilton Road at about 9pm on Thursday. He later died in Bunbury Hospital.

It is understood Mr Barton was stabbed.

Major crime squad detectives and forensic officers spent hours at the home yesterday.
