Taylor Swift is moving on from 1989 and may draft in an unlikely collaborator - Kanye West.

The country star metamorphosed into a bona fide pop star with the release of 1989 in 2014, which sold over six million copies worldwide and was the top-selling album of last year.

Now Swift, the master of reinvention, says she‘s going to do something different for the next record.

“I’m not making the next record yet. That’s going to take a lot of thinking about what that should be, because with 1989 - I love this album so much that I think it would be doing a real disservice to this album to try to copy it the next time around,” she told MTV.

“I think it’s going to have to be something very, very different creatively.”

But in a surprising turn of events, she hinted that she could draft in West to produce the record.

“We’ve never been in the studio together, but he’s got a lot of amazing ideas,” Swift told Entertainment Tonight.

“I think I completely respect his vision as a producer, so that’s all I know now. I have no idea what the next album is going to be, though,” she said.

Anyone who saw West’s infamous stage-invasion, when Swift won a 2009 Video Music Award, will know the idea of these two getting in a studio together seemed off the cards.

At the time, West seemed appalled that Swift had won the award over Beyonce, who also happens to be one of his BFFs.

However, the pair have since kissed and made up and, it seems, Swift’s great success has won West over.

One thing is for sure though, if the dynamic duo do end up working together Swift should make sure that this time around West really should let her finish.
