Raids uncover drugs, firearms

Drugs and weapons were seized in raids in Perth's southern suburbs yesterday.

In the first raid at a Warnbro address, police seized around 24 grams of cocaine, 33 grams of methamphetamine, 64 grams of MDMA, a quantity of cannabis and cannabis seeds, $25,000 in cash, a money counting machine and an allegedly stolen firearm.

Inquiries at the Warnbro property led police to a storage unit in Port Kennedy, where items allegedly used to make methamphetamine were found.

The items were seized for further testing, along with another firearm and ammunition.

As a result of the raids a 39-year-old Warnbro man was charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply, two counts of possessing a prohibited drug, two counts of possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property and once count each of possessing a prohibited weapon, possessing ammunition without a licence, possessing firearm with circumstances of aggravation and failing to ensure the safe-keeping of firearm/ammunition.

He will appear before the Rockingham Magistrate's Court today.

A 20-year-old Rockingham man arrived at the Warnbro address during the raid was charged after police found MDMA capsules allegedly hidden in his car.

He will appear in the Rockingham Magistrate's Court on March 17.
