Six hundred sheep have been stolen from fields in Worcestershire.

The livestock were taken from secure fields in Kemerton on Friday and then seen being loaded on to a lorry, West Mercia Police said.

The public is being urged to report suspicious sales of meat as it is feared the sheep may have been stolen to be illegally butchered.

Anyone with information about the theft, which occurred some time between 10:00 and 17:00 GMT, is asked to contact the force.
