The Traitors' Linda has admitted she "lost the plot completely" and had to change her game plan after being rumbled so early in the game.

The former opera singer was a Traitor in the BBC show and was finally banished from the castle this week. However, Faithful contestants had been pointing the finger at Linda from early on and she made a few slips, leading to viewers calling her the "worst" Traitor ever.

In an interview on The One Show she said she knew she'd been "messing up", but that coming under suspicion so early on had altered her strategy. She also opened up about the fact that fellow Traitor Minah had stabbed her in the back and nominated her to be banished, insisting there were no hard feelings.

During her time in the castle, Linda accidentally turned her head when someone mentioned Traitors, alerting fellow contestant Jake to the fact she might be one of them. Many fans also thought she was overacting when she broke down in tears over Livi's exit.

"I think I just lost the plot completely," Linda said on The One Show after host Alex Jones brought up her dubious acting skills.

"I think what threw me off was the first roundtable, when I had only been a Traitor for five minutes and Jake already pointed me out and I thought, 'I haven’t even opened my mouth yet, I mean come on!'

"I think that sort of changed my game plan so I was much quieter at the roundtable than I intended to be actually. But some of those lines that came out, it’s just me, that’s who I am!"

Jones also asked Linda if she was upset about Minah nominating her, but she said she wasn't.

"I already had worked out that I was pretty much going to go that evening," she explained. "And I said to her at breakfast — because we were alone that morning, we never usually were, but we were — and I said, 'Look, if it's going my way just vote for me, I really won’t hold it against it you because I want you to go all the way.'

"That’s what I said. Because I knew it was going to happen, because you kind of get the feeling. I had the feeling the whole time, what am I talking about?"

Linda, 70, also told how amazed she was to have become so popular with viewers.

"I’m actually incredulous to be honest — I thought I would be slammed because I was so awful!" she said. "But everybody seems to have gone with me and loved me!"

"I kept messing up!" she laughed.

The One Show airs at 7pm on BBC One on weekdays.

The Traitors airs on BBC One on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.
