At last, The Temper Trap are releasing a new album.
Thick As Thieves, the band's third record, comes four year's after their last, self-titled, release.
But the Melbourne-band were the first to acknowledge the long wait.
"Finally it's here! No one can accuse us of rushing things," the band wrote in a statement on Tuesday.
"We're definitely slow burners when it comes to writing albums so we're beyond excited to share these new songs with you."
The first taste of new music came in February when they released title track Thick As Thieves.
For the album, the band collaborated with outside songwriters for the first time, including Justin Parker (Lana Del Rey, Sia, Bat For Lashes) and producer Pascal Gabriel (Ladyhawke, Goldfrapp).
However, Temper Trap's frontman Dougy Mandagi was still given credit for most of the songwriting.
"Dougy's melodies are uplifting and the music has grit and attitude. It's an album filled with hope, raw energy and a passion that reminds us of our early days in the band," the band said.
The Temper Trap will play three dates in May in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane which are already sold out.
- The first single from the album, Fall Together is out now while Thick As Thieves will be released on June 10
