The Temper Trap return home for shows

The Temper Trap are returning home to Australia this May for three intimate shows.

The Aussie rock band will perform in Sydney on May 4 before heading to Melbourne and then Brisbane.

They announced the news of their homecoming to fans on their website and official Facebook page.

"I am crying tears of happiness. I haven't seen you guys since you opened for Coldplay in 2012, which was half the reason I went in the first place," Tayla Mogg commented on the post.

"I feel like doing a tap dance on a flag pole in the arctic while screaming shrilly `yes!'" Joel Hutt added.

Some fans were displeased that the four piece would only be performing in the three states.

"Please come to SA! A winery in the Barossa!?!!!" One begged.

"Adelaide??? You know you've got a HUGE fan base here!" Deb evans said.

News of the concerts comes only a few weeks after the band released their new single Thick as Thieves a "sneak peak" for their upcoming record.
