Iconic indie band Eskimo Joe to celebrate 21 years with national orchestral tour

Iconic indie rock band Eskimo Joe will celebrate 21 years in 2018 with a nationwide orchestral tour, performing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House on 6-7 March.

Kav Temperley (vocals, bass), Stu MacLeod (guitar) and Joel Quartermain (drums) formed the group in Fremantle in 1997 and went on to release their debut album, Girl, in 2001.

Drawing from six studio albums, three of which debuted at number one on the ARIA charts, Eskimo Joe will perform hits such as Black Fingernails Red Wine, Foreign Land and more with the SSO.

Reflecting on the milestone, Quartermain says, “it’s hard to believe that it’s been 21 years since Kav, Stu and I first got together to make music.”

“What started as scraping enough instruments together to jam tunes in share house lounge rooms led us to a lifetime’s worth of incredible experiences. From being able to write and record six albums, tour to all points of the globe and share stages with many of our heroes, our 21st anniversary seems like the perfect opportunity to look back and be grateful for the amazing ride that Eskimo Joe has taken my brothers-in-music and I on.”
