The Greatest Showman has set a record to become the most downloaded movie of all time in the UK.
It has racked up a whopping 1.1 million download sales since its release in 2018, according to the Official Charts Company.
Bohemian Rhapsody was second while Avengers films Endgame and Infinity War took the third and fourth spots.
Family favourites were also represented, with Moana at five, Frozen II at six and Trolls at seven.
Action, adventure and sci-fi proved to be popular too, with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens at number eight and number nine respectively.
The hit 2000 Dr Seuss adaptation The Grinch rounded out the top 10.
The Official Charts Company began tracking digital downloads of home entertainment titles in 2016, before launching the Official Film Chart in tandem with British Association for Screen Entertainment (BASE) in 2018. The weekly chart is the world’s first compiled using both physical and digital sales of films.
This week, UK digital download sales reached 100 million copies sold since Official Chart records began.
Official Charts Company chief executive Martin Talbot said it was a “huge milestone for the evolution of the video sector”.
“Ownership of movie downloads was already growing rapidly before the beginning of 2020, but over the past 18 months it has genuinely surged,” he said.
BASE chief executive Liz Bales added that it was a “huge moment of celebration for the home entertainment category as it shows just how much audiences have embraced the freshest ways to grow their film library”.
