Terrifying moment woman 'attempts to kidnap children on way to Disney World'

A family trip to Disney World almost turned into a nightmare when a woman allegedly tried to abduct two young children at one of the world’s busiest airports.

At 5am on June 24 Esther Daniels spotted a family with a baby in a stroller at Atlanta International Airport.

The family was on their way to Disney World in Florida, when Ms Daniels attempted to make off with the pram.

She was only stopped with the baby’s mother jumped into action, fighting off Ms Daniels.

Security cameras captured the moment on camera which showed Ms Daniels taking advantage of the commotion, grabbing another child from the family before running off with the child in her arms.

A nearby traffic control police officer sprinted after Ms Daniels and three other police officers managed to pin her to the ground, returning the child she allegedly attempted to abduct, back to the family.

Local police have praised the female police officer who raised the alarm by chasing after Ms Daniels in the crowded airport.

“She deserves all the praise,” Ms Tashena Brown from the Atlanta police department told WSB-TV.

“Especially for her to have been working, really, in a civilian capacity, for her to just jump in right away with no hesitation is amazing,” she added.

Police called Ms Daniels’ actions “erratic” and said she was taken to nearby Grady Memorial Hospital for an assessment before being charged with kidnapping and obstruction.
