Terrifying moment massive crocodile bites fishermen's boat

Two fishermen have captured the frightening moment a huge crocodile took a leap at their boat with its jaws wide open.

The crocodile is loitering in the water just metres away from the men when it suddenly lunges upwards, taking a bite out of a chair on the boat.

“Hey, back up, back up!” one of the men can be heard shouting before the croc rears up.

Amongst some swearing, the two men can be heard laughing nervously in the video.

The video, which has gone viral, was posted to Suzuki Marine Aust/NZ’s Facebook page late last week, gathering 1400 likes, 2400 comments and 6800 shares.

Suzuki Marine received the footage via a customer, but who took the video and where the footage was filmed remains unknown.

“If this is your video, please let us know by commenting below!,” they wrote alongside the video.

Debate has raged about the likely spot where the croc scare might have happened, with some thinking Queensland and others suggesting the Northern Territory.

Others started worrying that their own “tinnies” might suffer a similar fate.

“I was nervous before, and even more nervous now about our tinny being high enough,” one person wrote.

“Have had two incidents like this in tinny,” another person wrote. “Didn’t let it get that far.

“As soon as the crocs show an interest I move on. When you’re in a 3.7 mtr [sic] tinny there’s no sense pushing the envelope.”

Another showed a bit more bravado, writing: “We would have kicked it away with our feet and then had a beer, laughed and fished some more … well, maybe.”
