Terrifying moment 'brave' little boy takes on armed robber
A shocking video released by police shows the moment a young boy tries to defend his home against a group of armed intruders.
The video was shared to social media by Indiana’s South Bend Police Department in hopes of identifying the four male intruders.
South Bend Police said the invasion happened on September 30 at around 10.30am, local time.
“Four males, all with hoodies on, knocked on the front door,” the police said.
“A juvenile occupant opened the door and the four males forced themselves inside.
“At least three of the four were armed with handguns.”
Once inside the home, two men charge through the house, into the room where the camera is, forcing an adult woman into the other room, leaving behind the young child who tried to attack the men with a flurry of punches.
The child then picks up an object and throws it at one of the intruders. The armed man keeps walking and the boy lunges towards him.
The child is seen grabbing on to the intruder’s arm at the end of the video.
“This video is extremely disturbing,” South Bend Police said.
“You can see a little boy hitting one of the armed suspects as he tries to defend his home.
“It is our job now to defend him.”
Police said the four suspects fled the scene and more shots were fired. Fortunately, no one was physically injured in the ordeal.
Police were called to the scene in relation to the shots being fired, it was when officers arrived on the scene they were told there had been a home invasion.
It appears the investigation is ongoing.
In the comments, people were praising the little boy for his bravery.
“What a brave little man! Someone give him a medal, he tried his best to protect his family,” one person said.
