Girl, 13, found after being missing for a week

A 13-year-old girl has been found after being missing for a week.

The teen’s mother had made a public plea for help in the search for her daughter.

Queensland Police said on Friday morning the girl was found safe and well.

She left an address on the Sunshine Coast on April 18 about midday, saying she was heading to an inner Brisbane suburb of Bowen Hills.

Later that evening she was seen fighting with another teen girl in the Woodridge area, then getting into a car with an unknown person, Child Protection and Investigation Unit detectives said.

Her mother was sent a video of the scuffle and has since been “terrified” of what kind of trouble her daughter could be in, 9News reported.

"To see it happen at the hands of someone she called her friends made me quite sick. I pretty much collapsed,” she said.
