'Took it personally': Milos Raonic steps in after girlfriend's 'fat-shaming' response
Milos Raonic has broken his silence on his girlfriend’s blunt reaction to a fellow tennis player ‘fat-shaming’ the Canadian star on social media.
Italian ace Fabio Fognini got more than he bargained for when he tried to sledge Canadian rival Raonic on Instagram earlier in August, copping a brutal serve from the world No.30’s model girlfriend.

A recent picture of Raonic, posted online by Argentinian player Diego Schwartzman during training, caused a stir when many fans began to speculate about the Canadian’s supposed weight gain during the coronavirus shutdown.
Before Schwartzman disabled comments, social media users noticed Fognini said Raonic had ‘eaten an elephant’.
But Raonic’s girlfriend, Camille Ringoir, wasn’t having any of it and she hit back with a not-so-subtle quip.
She dived into the records to find out the result of the last match Raonic and Fognini had played.
“Just a bread stick and a bagel,” Rangoir posted alongside a screenshot of the score from that game, an icy reminder of the pair’s history.
Raonic admits Rangoir took insult personally
Ringoir’s fiery return of serve caused a social media storm and Raonic has admitted, while it didn’t affect him, she took the insult quite personally.
“It was an unflattering picture. We were training down in the Bahamas. It was very humid,” Raonic said when asked about the image.
“Clothes sticks to you. Like my mom would tell me, maybe my posture isn't as good as it needs to be sometimes. It was a little bit of a slouch. Things can look a lot worse than they really are.
“She took it very personally. I didn't care much for it, and she felt it was necessary for her to make a remark. I saw it caught a bit more tailwind than I thought it deserved.”
Clearly Raonic’s hard work during the coronavirus pandemic has paid off with the booming Canadian reaching the Western & Southern Open semi-final.
Raonic will play Novak Djokovic - who is yet to lose a match in 2020 - in the final.
