Ten Victorians wake up as millionaires after scoring huge Lotto win

Ten Victorians woke up as millionaires on Wednesday morning after their syndicate won the division one prize in Tuesday’s Oz Lotto draw.

The Portland locals won $12,552,379.34 - the only division one winning entry in Australia in Oz Lotto draw 1383.

The syndicate’s System 8 QuickPick entry also saw them score seven division three prizes, taking their total prize to $12,582,613.74

Each of the ten winners will pocket over $1.2 million, The Lott said in a statement.

The shares in the syndicate were purchased at Matt’s Lotto, Cards & Gifts, on Percey Street in Portland.

Owner Matt Jowett said the win was “monumental”.

“I took over the store just over a year ago, so this is the first division one winning entry I’ve sold. It’s monumental!” he said.

“The outlet has been here for about 40 years, and they have sold plenty of division one winning entries during that time, but it’s pretty exciting to have sold one as the new owner.

“This syndicate has been running every week for years. It pre-dates me owning the outlet!”

Mr Jowett said he was looking forward to telling his customers about the $12 million win and of course, the ten winners.

The winning numbers in Tuesday’s draw were 45, 43, 10, 22, 26, 12 and 21, and the supplementary numbers were 19 and 1.

Some of the syndicate members have unregistered entries and may be oblivious to their win, Bronwyn Spencer, a spokesperson for The Lott said.

“It’s fair to say each syndicate member will get the surprise of their life when they discover their entry is worth over $1.2 million!” she said.

“While we’ll be reaching out to those syndicate members who registered their entries to their Tatts Cards, there are some syndicate members who have unregistered entries and may not yet know they’re part of this winning group.”

Ms Spencer is urging anyone who purchased a share in a syndicate entry from Matt’s Lotto, Gifts and Cards to check their entry.
