Ten people pulled from the water in terrifying event

Ten people were involved in a non-fatal drowning incident on the Sunshine Coast on Christmas Day, resulting in three people being taken to hospital.

The incident happened at around 11.41am on Friday in the waters off Oceanic Drive in Warana.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, 10 patients were assessed on the beach.

In an update, the Queensland Ambulance Service said three of those patients had been taken to hospital.

“Three patients were transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in stable conditions and seven patients were uninjured and did not require transport to hospital following the earlier incident at Warana,” Queensland Ambulance Services tweeted.

The three patients transported to hospital were all females - a woman aged in her 40s, a teenager and a child.
