Teenager loses driving licence 49 minutes after getting it following major speeding fail
Finally getting your driving licence is one of the best feelings ever – unfortunately that feeling lasted less than an hour for a German teenager.
The unidentified 18-year-old had only just passed his driving test when he was stopped by police in the town of Hemer, Germany.
They had clocked him going at twice the speed limit – 60mph in a 30mph zone.
As a result, the young man, who had four friends in the car with him, lost his licence, a mere 49 minutes after he got it.
German police said in a statement: ‘Some things last forever – others not for an hour.’
Officer believe the teen may have been trying to impress his friends at the time he was clocked.

As a result of his speeding, the teen has been banned from driving for four weeks and will only have it returned after ‘expensive retraining’.
He is also facing a £178 fine, two points on his licence once it is eventually returned, and his probationary period as a new driver has been doubled from two years to four.
