Teenager injured after being hit by police car

A teenager suffered serious injuries after being hit by a police car in Lincoln, officers said.

The incident happened at the pedestrian crossing on Broadgate, near Silver Street, shortly before 15:00 GMT.

Lincolnshire Police said the marked police car had been deployed to an urgent incident when it hit the 16-year-old.

The force appealed for footage and information.

The northbound carriageway remained closed while investigations continued, it added.
