Teen TikTok star's horror as dad shoots stalker dead

A teenage TikTok star has revealed how her dad shot and killed her stalker during a terrifying home invasion last year.

Ava Majury was 13 when she joined the social media platform during Covid lockdown in 2020. Her police officer dad had just retired and moved their family from New Jersey to Florida.

The videos of the now 15-year-old singing and dancing quickly gained in popularity, attracting more than a million fans, including Eric Rohan Justin, 18, Ava told The New York Times in an article published on Thursday.

Under the username EricJustin111, Justin left comments on the young girl’s TikToks – a handful of which she replied to at first.

However, Ava told the publication she was later bombarded with calls and texts from the 18-year-old and learned former classmates had sold him photos of her and her phone number.

“I had to unfollow all my local friends and Jersey friends,” she told the NYT.

“And everyone around me was like, ‘Oh you’re going Hollywood on all of us, you don’t want to talk to us anymore’. And I’m like, ‘You’re selling my stuff’.”

Eventually, Justin asked the 15-year-old if he could buy selfies from her.

Noting the photos were already online, Ava’s parents gave her permission to sell two photos to the 18-year-old for USD$300 (A$417).

“It was just pictures of my face, which is what I assume that he was paying for. My whole thing is my pretty smile — that’s my content,” she told the publication.

Soon after, their interactions took a dark turn and Justin began to ask for photos of her feet and “booty”.

Ava said she blocked him on all of her accounts and her dad, Rob Majury, texted Justin, telling him to stop contacting his minor daughter.

However, Justin allegedly contacted a male classmate of Ava’s, reportedly telling him he could “breach” the TikTok star’s home with a shotgun.

Mr Majury told the NYT he didn’t believe Justin was a threat, chalking him up to be just another “keyboard cowboy” who lived several states away.

'A hole in my door': Stalker attacks

Around 4:30am on July 10 last year, Justin turned up to the family’s home and reportedly fired a gun at the front door.

“All I remember was, I heard it, I felt it in my chest, and I looked up, and there was a hole in my door from the fragments,” Ava said.

Justin retreated after his weapon jammed, giving Mr Majury enough time to grab his own gun and run to the front door as his wife called 911.

Ava and her young brothers hid in a back room.

While Mr Majury was waiting for police, Justin returned and refused to put down his weapon. Mr Majury shot and killed the 18-year-old.

The dad will not be charged with any crime due to Florida’s Stand Your Ground law — which allows people to use deadly force if they feel their lives are in danger, the NYT reported.

Officers found two mobile phones on Justin containing hundreds of photos and videos of Ava.

Teen remains on TikTok

Despite the terrifying ordeal, and more recent encounters with inappropriate comments from men, Ava remains on TikTok with her parents’ support.

“I think we just had to allow her to make a decision and sort of support her," her dad said.

"I think it’s going to help her heal. It sounds corny, but I don’t know what else you would do it for.”

The 15-year-old’s mum Kim Majury told the publication she knows “some people won’t understand” their decision.

Ava, who is now homeschooled, admitted the thousands of dollars she makes on social media is part of the attraction to staying online.
