Teen shot in alleged drive-by hit

A teen has been shot in Sydney’s west in an alleged drive-by shooting, police have said.

The 18-year-old man was standing by a utility with two other males on Friday night when a black-coloured SUV drove past them.

A NSW Police spokesman said multiple shots were then fired at the teen.

Police were called to Blackfriar Pl at Wetherill Park at 7.15pm on reports of a shooting.

At 7.50pm, the young man presented to hospital with gunshot wounds.

The two other males were uninjured in the alleged shooting.

The police have launched an investigation into the shooting and a crime scene has been established.

The police have seized the utility for forensic examination.

Commander for Fairfield City Police Area Command Superintendent Michael McLean will address media at the Fairfield Police Station at 12pm on the incident.
