'Never done anything like this': Teen’s unusual act before disappearance

The parents of a missing teen who vanished from school are worried she might have been taken by an internet predator.

Morgan Panzer, 19, was last seen at Bergen Community College, in the US state of New Jersey, on Wednesday about 11am, police said.

Her dad Richard wrote on Facebook his daughter “possibly got in a car in the parking garage with an unknown person or persons”.

“She has never left with anyone she doesn't know before and is in possible danger. Possible online predator,” he wrote.

Police have also issued a plea to find Morgan.

Mr Panzer told NJ.com he viewed CCTV of Morgan before she went missing. She was seen at the campus’s cafeteria before walking into a parking garage.

He claims Morgan’s phone and backpack were left behind in the cafeteria with a message telling whoever found it that she was leaving for three weeks and not to look for her.

Mr Panzer said Morgan’s teachers told him she did not attend any classes on Wednesday.

“She’s never done anything like this in her life. It seems like someone is helping her,” he told the publication.

Morgan’s mum Denise Panzer told NorthJersey.com her daughter is “naive” along with shy, socially awkward and friendly. She agreed with Morgan’s dad that her disappearance is out of character believing someone might be instructing her.

"She sticks to me like glue,” she said.
