Teen inmate caught 10km from NSW facility

A teenager has been caught less than five hours after he escaped from a juvenile jail in the NSW Riverina.

Ayeden Jones, 17, fled the Wagga Wagga facility about 5.30pm on Tuesday but was arrested at Cartwrights Hill on the outskirts of the town about 9pm, police confirmed to AAP on Wednesday.

He was taken to the local police station before being taken back to the facility.
