Teen girl dies and another critical in Sydney stabbing

A teenage girl is dead and another is fighting for her life after a stabbing in Sydney’s west.

The girl, 17, was found suffering from stab wounds alongside another girl, also 17, at an apartment complex on Church Street, Parramatta on Friday about 10.45pm (AEDT).

Both were hospitalised at Westmead Hospital but one of them died while the other remains in a critical condition.

The girl who died is yet to be formally identified, police said.

Police said a 19-year-old man, known to both girls, was arrested at Parramatta Police Station on Saturday about 2.50am.

State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad is investigating the incident.
