A teenager has been charged with arson over a fire that destroyed a house in Adelaide's north.

The 14-year-old girl was arrested after investigations into the blaze at Elizabeth Vale on Wednesday night.

Fire crews were called to the Clarke Street address at 8.30 pm and found a duplex property fully ablaze.

The residents had all escaped unhurt but the building was destroyed.

The girl was granted police bail to appear in Elizabeth Youth Court in April.
