Paramedics tried to revive him but unfortunately he couldn’t be saved and died at the scene.

A crime scene has been established as police investigate the death.

Resident Ahmad Elhamoui told The Daily Telegraph he was watching TV with his daughter when he heard a gunshot followed by two people arguing.

“I’ve got young kids over there in my house it’s not really a pretty thing to explain to the kids that somebody got shot in your street,” he told the paper.

Liverpool City Police Area Commander Superintendent Adam Whyte told reporters the incident “was not random, it was targeted”.

He added the victim is yet to be formally identified.

Man arrested after fatal Sydney stabbing

Emergency workers were called to a Redfern unit just before 1am on Sunday, and found a 54-year-old man with a stab wound in his back, police say.

The man died at the scene despite attempts to revive him.

Detectives have arrested a 48-year-old man in Waterloo over the stabbing and he is currently being questioned.
