A teenager has died after falling from a balcony on the Gold Coast.

The 19-year-old man's body was discovered at the foot of a View Avenue apartment complex after falling from the fourth floor about 3am Saturday.

"He could not be resuscitated, he was deceased on scene," Queensland Ambulance Service senior operations supervisor Neil Stead said.

Police also found another four teenagers, who had taken prescription drugs, in a semi-conscious state in one of the units above.

All four were transported to Robina Hospital in a stable condition and three others were assessed by paramedics.

Earlier, around 2.20 am, two 16-year-old boys believed to be from the same group were arrested between View Avenue and the Esplanade for allegedly possessing prescription drugs.

Investigations are continuing.

A crime scene has been set up and police are speaking to everyone inside the building as they piece together what happened.
