A teenager has been refused bail over a callous attack on a blind man at a NSW bus stop.

Wesley Barton, 19, has pleaded guilty to assault and assault occasioning bodily harm over Wednesday night's assault at Gosford on the state's Central Coast.

The 62-year-old victim was knocked over during the attack and Barton was seen kicking him in the torso while he was on the ground.

A 17-year-old boy who was with Barton was also taken into custody, but later released.

Barton was refused bail in the Gosford Local Court on Thursday due to being an unacceptable risk of re-offending.

He is due to be sentenced next month.
