Police are hunting a man and a woman after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed multiple times in the carpark of Woolworths in the upmarket Sydney suburb of Balmain.
The boy suffered stab wounds to his upper body on Thursday evening and has been taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.
In a statement NSW Police said emergency services were called to the carpark on Darling Street at about 6.50pm.
A crime scene was established at the carpark and is being examined by specialist personnel, NSW Police said.

Police believe a man and woman, who aren’t known to the boy, might be able to assist with inquiries.
The male is of Caucasian appearance, 182cm tall and with ginger hair. When he was last seen the man was wearing a red jacket.
No description of the woman was available.
