Teen allegedly stabbed in Halloween brawl
Two teenagers have been charged after a 16-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed in a Halloween brawl.
Emergency services were called to a park on Burelli Street in Wollongong about 10pm on October 31 following reports of a stabbing.
Officers were told a group of people was allegedly involved in a brawl before a 16-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed multiple times.
The boy was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after he was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
A crime scene was established, with specialist officers examining the scene.
A 16-year-old by was arrested in Dapto on November 1 following the launch of an investigation into the incident.
He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to front a Children’s Court on November 2, where he was again refused bail to appear before a Children’s Court on November 12.
A 17-year-old boy was also arrested and charged with affray after attending Wollongong Police Station on November 6.
He was refused bail and was set to front a Children’s Court on Wednesday.
