Amazon outage catches Sydney customers short
Australia has been hit with website and banking outages, with major internet servers crashing.
Amazon Web Services experienced numerous connection issues for services based in Sydney on Sunday.
The service provides cloud technology for a range of websites, banks and other business.
Social media came alive with complaints after they were not able to access apps and pay for goods during widespread outage.

Those affected included a range of news websites, car sharing service GoGet, TV and movie streaming services, and online food ordering service Menulog.
Oh, @Menulog, you do not want to come in between two hangry white chicks and their Thai food on wine & movie night. SORT YOURSELVES OUT.

Some customers took to social media to explain they had become stuck in embarrassing standoffs in checkout queues as payment services failed.
It's not yet known if the severe storms pounding Australia’s east coast were to blame.
Customers from Westpac and Commonwealth Bank complained of eftpos and ATM issues last night, but Amazon says they weren't related.
