Russian woman tests 'Terminator' suit in amazing weapons test video

A young Russian soldier might have earned the nickname "Terminator" after she walked through an erupting minefield unheeded in a weapons test video.

The unknown woman was testing a bombproof suit that shielded her from the blasts and flying shrapnel of a several bombs that went off only metres from her - and sometimes right beneath her.

The ground erupts in explosions of fire and debris, but this only knocks the test subject from her stride slightly.

Nothing stops the woman's march as her white Terminator suit turns to black amid the blasts and flames.

When she gets to the end of the test, the soldier takes off her protective head wear and gives a flick of her hair.

A technician approaches her with a bouquet of red flowers, which puts and big smile on her face.

Beaming, she salutes to the camera, her mission complete.

Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who also oversees defence industry, said on Facebook it was a shame the Terminator suit she was wearing was a "pitiful semblance" to the woman underneath.

The suit was developed by the Central Research Institute of Precision Machine Building for Russian Armed Forces.
